MEET PETE NELSON
What do you do on a daily basis?
If we print it…I schedule it, and then make sure it prints perfectly. Guess that means I oversee roughly 4,000 jobs every year! I let sales, sell. Let art design, and our printing team, print. Then I make sure what was supposed to print arrives on our client’s door steps.
What is the best part of your job?
Working with a very dedicated team who take great pride in what we produce! I love seeing the reviews from our clients on how pleased they are with the quality of our products and the timely manner in which they were produced. I especially love when we see our products at a concert or at an event, but most of all when I ski at Vail, I love seeing the nearly 10 miles of fencing that we have done for them.
What experience did you have before taking on your current role?
I was in the Restaurant Business for 20 years. When I married that didn’t work very well so I went to work for my brother-in-law who is in a similar business to Omni’s. They I joined Omni when we had one hand operated print table, one dryer and six employees.
What do you enjoy most about our customers?
Their loyalty and appreciation to what we do. We have clients that have been with Omni for over 20 years. How cool is that?
Do you have a favorite project of all time?
The custom trampoline project!
You have a beautiful wife. Do you have any kids?
I married my wife 30 years ago and we have 3 great kids! Alex 27, Katie 23 & J.P. 22.
What do you like to do when you are not at Omni?
You will find me skiing or golfing, my two favorite activities. Yes that is me playing golf with Jack back in the day!
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you vacation? Would you ever come back?
My wife and I are heading to Australia this spring, we will be back, but we can’t wait. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled the world but can’t think of a place I would rather live than Colorado.
If you could change jobs today, what would you do?
Become a fighter pilot!
